Do you and your bestie finish each other’s sentences, automatically know what the other is thinking when something happens, and display odd little synchronicities like walking in time with each other?
When people in a close-knit group begin to think, speak, and act in a similar fashion, it’s because they’re developing what is called a ‘hive mind’ – just like a hive of bees, each individual has a specific function it performs within the group, but those individual tasks when viewed collectively work as a cohesive unit to ensure the group’s survival.
Let’s break that down into its simplest form:
Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe are Friends.
Behind all the crazy, Monica is the nurturer, the one they come to for advice. And food.
Rachel is in fact the dreamer, the one who refuses to settle for less than she deserves.
And Phoebe brings the whimsy, reminding everyone to take time to simply enjoy life.
In their somewhat stereotyped way, each brings something to the table that the others don’t have, and that is what holds the group together and ensures that the friendship continues over time.
And if you look at your own friend group, you’ll more than likely notice that same type of pattern.
So, what does any of that have to do with manifesting your destiny?
The people you surround yourself with, the people with whom you create that ‘hive mind’, are the ones who shape your views of both yourself and your future. So, if you surround yourself with people who are content to whine and bitch about everything, you find yourself turning into a Karen or a Ken, whereas if your friend group is made up of positive thinkers and spiritually content people, those same problems tend to glide off you like water rolling off of a duck’s back.

Ask a self-made millionaire how they became rich, and ninety percent will tell you they surrounded themselves with people who could help them get there through leading by example.
When Bob gets married and breaks up the boys’-night gang because he chooses to have dinner with his wife and another couple, it’s not because Bob is whipped. It’s because Bob’s interests no longer align with those of the group as a result of his changed marital status, so he’s seeking out a new hive.
Likewise, when you’re trying to manifest something, if you’re surrounded by people whose way of thinking differs from the goal you have in mind, you find that your manifestation becomes stuck, more often than not due to doubt and self-sabotage. The friends who claim to love you and have your back are usually the ones who tell you that you’re being silly to chase such a huge dream,
often under the pretext of ‘being realistic’, thus sowing those seeds of doubt and self-sabotage.
But the same is also true for positive people.
Peter Parker was quite happy being the friendly neighborhood Spider-man, until Tony Stark drafted him to help fight Captain America’s gang of non-Accord-signers.
Steve Harrington was busy doing his thing slinging ice cream and hitting on the ladies, until the Hawkins gang roped him into their crazy exploits with their Vecna drama.
Jack Sparrow was minding his own business, looking for a ship because his beloved Black Pearl had been stolen, when he got tangled up in Will and Elizabeth’s mess.
In the same way that ‘accidental heroes’ are created in movies and TV shows simply because of their association with ‘greatness’, so too is greatness in real life.
Associating yourself with the right kind of people can encourage you to pursue your own dreams.
And no, I don’t mean you need to suck up to some wealthy person in the hopes they’ll fund your next business idea. I mean you need to let go of that person who’s content to bitch about what an asshole their boss is, and find you a friend who might not be successful in the eyes of the world but has the balls to keep pressing on with their small business even in the face of chaos and setbacks, who knows that their dreams is worth pursuing, because when you create that kind of ‘hive’, you begin pushing each other to go that extra mile instead of trying to hold each other back.
So, your homework for the next two weeks is to honestly and objectively examine your tribe.
Look at the people with whom you surround yourself, and ask yourself whether they are helping or hindering your manifestations, whether they lift you up when you talk about your dream or try to pull you back down because you’re being ‘delusional’. Or whether you even feel comfortable telling them about your dream in the first place, or choose to keep it to yourself because you already know they’ll laugh at you or make you feel silly for daring to think outside the box that is their current reality.
And now, to end today’s post, I’m going to share my choices for the
