SOCIAL MEDIA SHAM

Truth be told, I’ve been debating whether to write this post since we restarted the blog, but after a little doomscrolling through Instagram last week, I felt I needed to issue the following warning:

BEWARE OF ‘MANIFESTATION GURUS’ ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!

Especially the ones who tell you that manifestation is an ‘energy exchange’, so you need to follow them and then interact with their video three times in order to ‘claim’ the energy.

The only thing clicking those buttons is going to do is increase their engagement, which in turn increases the size of the check they receive from IG / Tiktok for those monetized videos.

Now, that’s not to say you shouldn’t help a fellow human being to make some coin if you feel so inclined, especially since it costs you nothing to tap on those buttons.
So, for the love of God, tap the hell out of those buttons every time you see a friend or family member post something, and help them to grow their platform.
But please do not for one second believe that hitting ‘Like’ and ‘Repost’ on a manifestation video is going to somehow help you to achieve your goal any faster.

Manifesting a dream job, or a new home, or a loving partner requires an alignment of your energetic frequency with that which you’re trying to call into your life.
It does not in any way, shape, or form depend on you helping to grow someone else’s IG account!

The problem I have with videos like this is that they deliberately prey on people’s hopes and dreams, manipulating them into donating to the so-called guru’s collection plate by offering false assurances.

When I first began my manifestation journey, I stumbled across a ‘teacher’ on IG who promised to show you how to quantum leap ‘the easy way’ in her free masterclass. So, naturally, I signed up.

And this is what I received in exchange for three-plus hours of my Friday night:
~ A reiteration of everything I’d already seen on her IG reels
~ An ‘exclusive offer’ to join her community for the low, low price of $500 USD

The hook was the free webinar which offered nothing new.

The bait was the ‘exclusive offer’ that exploited her viewers’ desire to upgrade their lives by tapping into the FOMO that is an inherent part of human nature.

The catch was the income she received from everyone who signed up to be part of this community that offers ‘support’ by sharing personal testimonials – something you can literally do for free in the comment section of any post.

And since we’re already on the topic, the second warning I would like to issue is this:

BEWARE OF TAROT READERS OF SOCIAL MEDIA!!!

Many employ the same sneaky tactics to grow their accounts by telling viewers they need to follow, like, and comment in order to claim the energy of the reading, falsely promising that this ‘energy exchange’ will help to bring in your manifestation faster.

And no, I’m not including the customary plug for a personal reading in their reels.
That’s just good business sense, inserting a free ad for the service you provide.
But, if you follow the majority of these readers for long enough, you’ll see a pattern begin to emerge –

You’ve been putting in the work, and God / spirit / the universe says:
~ Your hard work is about to pay off by January
~ There’s a delay, so you’ll get it by May instead
~ You’re still stuck somewhere, so maybe in July?
~ You’re going to receive your blessing by October
~ You’re stuck again, so probably in the new year

And before you know it, three years have gone by and you’re still liking, sharing, and commenting on every post while they dangle the proverbial carrot on a stick in front of the ‘collective’ for whom they’re reading. Meanwhile, their accounts have grown from 1K to 500K, and you’re still waiting and wondering why you haven’t received the blessing that they swear is right around the corner.

The truth is, you can follow every ‘teacher’ and ‘guru’ on every social media platform, but if you’re still operating from a place of doubt and a mindset of scarcity and desperation, none of those Likes and Reposts will make even the slightest bit of difference.

Mind you, I’m not telling you not to follow these people.
Manifestation can sometimes be a tedious endeavor, and it takes a toll on your spirit when you’re experiencing an ego death or sitting in the void of the liminal space, and having that encouragement can often times mean the difference between you forging ahead or giving up and going back to that old place of ‘safety’, especially if you don’t have that support in real life.
And if you so choose, by all means follow, like, share, and comment.

All I ask is that you be aware that simply following someone on social media is not going to help you deliver your manifestation into your 3D reality any faster, that liking and commenting on a post isn’t going to allow you to skip the very necessary steps of an identity shift before you can quantum leap.

So, while you’re listening to that collective reading or sitting through that webinar, please remember that although these are great tools for mental and emotional support during the tough periods, they are NOT a ‘cheat code’ that will help you skip ahead to the finish line. You still have to put in the work.

And now, to end today’s post on a more uplifting note, I’m going to share my choices for the
